We had an early start today with our Tilleymint Ice Cream Bike to attend the craft fair held in the Village Hall in the beautiful village of Hale. There was a variety of crafts on offer, from custom clocks, children's wear, artwork and sweets, and of course our lovely ice cream which, as always was a great talking point. It was such a lovely day some people even sat outside in the sun eating their Ice Cream.
The event had a nice feel about it, very friendly people and very well organised by Jimmy and Linda. They are constantly looking at ways to raise money to support the New Hale community centre.
A few years ago it was a cold, damp, dull smelly place which Hale brownies used every week for years and hoped one day they would see the building renovated.
It took a few people on a dedicated committee and the brownies years, but finally their wish came true. They now have a new youth centre, a lovely modern building for the Hale people to use but as with everything nowadays they need money to keep it going.
Hopefully the raffle and the stall holders contributions from today will help.
The event was opened by The Lord Mayor of Hale Brian Hargreaves, who will be finishing his term in office this year.
The event was very well attended and Jimmy & Linda are planning more events throughout the year. We hope to go back again later in the year.
